The Yoga Studio

De Yoga Studio is a quality yoga school located in the center of Eindhoven and was founded in 2003. We offer differtent styles of yoga classes every day, seven days a week, more than 40 classes a week! For instance Ashtanga Yoga, Mysore Classes, Jivamukti Yoga, Yin Yoga, Power Yoga, Easy Flow Yoga and Pregnancy Yoga. And inspiring workshops given by teachers from all over the world. Here you can find the real yoga and everybody is welcome!

We also offer a special Mysore Program! Come and experience the magic of a real Mysore practice with an authorized or certified teacher. Every day you will be assisted by a senior teacher who dedicates his or her life to Ashtanga Yoga. The growth, depth, awareness and development you will experience are transformative. And if you are interested in becoming an Ashtanga Yoga teacher, you can follow our Ashtanga Yoga Intensieve Training (200hr). This training is certified by Yoga Alliance. This training will be given in Dutch as well as in English. It is not a requirement that you speak Dutch, but you need to understand it (written and spoken). language Classes

Especially for our English speaking students we have the Mysore Program This program is thaught by international English speaking teachers. Once a week we have an English led class (Sunday at 8.30 hrs).

Our other led classes are thought in Dutch, but you don't have to speak or understand Dutch to be able to follow them! We have many English speaking students who attend these classes and they tell us it's easy enough to follow. Many words are repeated several times during class, so you pick up on the most used ones (Dutch and Sanskrit) very easy. And if you don't understand what's been said, just look at what your neighbour is doing ;-). All our teachers can speak English very well and when they speak to you individual (inside or outside class) they will do this in English. So feel free to come and join!


starting yoga in 3 steps!

Step 1 - choose a class

When you start practising yoga you first want to get familiar with the basics. For instance the poses but also the specific breathing technique. You learn these basics in our classes which are specifically for starters. Also the classes with an easy pace are good classes to start yoga. During these classes the teachers have sufficient time to talk you through all the poses and learn you the different techniques. As soon as you are familiar with the basics (usually after 6 -12 classes) you can join the classes for the more advanced yogi.

Step 2 - REGISTER FOR A FREE TRIAL CLASS

Step 3 - come to our studio

Please make sure that you are in the studio 15 minutes before the class starts so you can meet your teacher.

Wear comfortable clothes in which you can move freely. Yoga is done barefoot and without jewelery or a watch.

If you like you can bring a bottle of water and a towel. We have yoga mats for the trial class, but please feel free to bring your own. If you become a member, we ask you to get your own yoga mat (hygiene). There are blankets and meditation cussions for you to use free of charge.

vinkje   FOOD

We recommend not to eat 2 hours before class. If you are hungry, eat modest. A full stomage can feel uncomfortable during class.

vinkje   Time

Always be present for your class 10 minutes in advance. It can be disturbing for other students when you are late. In the rare case you are late, please enter as quietly as possible.

vinkje   Listen to yourself

Yoga is NOT a competition, please listen to yourself. Respect your body. Move calmly and with full attention, do not rush or force yourself. Stop and rest when you feel this is needed.


 IN AND AROUND THE STUDIO

vinkje   PARKING

All parking near the studio is free of charge. When the parking spots in the street are full, you can drive to the end of the street and park in the neighbourhood around the corner. Please do not park your car or bike in front of the property of our neighbours at  number 2!  Many thanks in advance.

Silence brings quietness in you and in class. Make sure your phone is always off and talk quietly.


 HEALTH

Please make sure your teacher knows before class starts if you have an injury or another physical or mental health issue which can be important for your yoga practice.

vinkje   MENSTRUATIon

Please respect your monthly cycle and take it easy during your menstruation. Avoid inverted postures. If you notify your teacher, he or she will give you alternative postures.

vinkje   PREGNANCY

Please inform your teacher immediately when you are pregnant. During pregnancy your body changes and your teacher can inform you about what to do and what to avoid in this special period. We advise you to not have an intensive practice during your pregnancy for the first 3 months and to start Pregnancy Yoga after the first trimester. Of course everybody is different and you are free to make your own choices.


 Membership

You can start attending classes at any time in the month. Please make an appointment for a trial class. At the end of your trial class your teacher can also give you the registrationform so you can register.

vinkje   PAYMENT

All membership fees are collected by preauthorised debit ("automatische incasso"). The first week of the month the memberschip fee will be collected automatically for that month.

vinkje   Membership changes

When changes are passed on to us before the 20th of the month then the change has effect on the first day of the next month. Changes that are passed on to us from the 20th of the month have effect on the first day of the month after that.

vinkje   CANCELLATION

When you need to cancel your membership, please send a letter by ordinary mail or send an email to Dit e-mailadres wordt beveiligd tegen spambots. JavaScript dient ingeschakeld te zijn om het te bekijken. . Cancellations that are received before the 15th of the month have effect on the first day of the next month. Cancellations that are received from the 15th of the month have effect on the first day of the month after that. Within two working days you get a confirmation that your memberschip has been cancelled. Only after receiving the confirmation the cancellation is processed. Please make sure you get the confirmation. The entrance pass can be given to your teacher or send back by ordinary mail.
