Are you pregnant? Congratulations!
A special period full of changes. Changes in a time when we expect a lot from ourselves and often have (and take) little time to reflect on this. Fortunately, there is Pregnancy Yoga. Just some me-time, good for yourself and your child.

 

During pregnancy, yoga can play a key role in enhancing the experience of this precious time and empowering the mother-to-be to have the most conscious birth experience. Yoga can help women enjoy their pregnancy with minimal discomfort, cultivate breath awareness and strengthen the body in preparation for labour. Yoga also offers you the opportunity to connect with your baby, and coming to classes is a great way to feel part of a community of pregnant women.

 

 

BENEFITS OF PREGNANCY YOGA

- Improvement of your daily posture (to prevent back, neck and shoulder complaints, among other things)

- You learn useful breathing techniques during pregnancy and delivery

- Being more relaxed by letting go of muscles, but also of thoughts and expectations

- Awareness of your pelvic floor muscles (delivery muscles)

- Time to calmly make the connection with your child

- Nice moment for yourself

 


SUITABLE FOR

From week 15 you can start Pregnancy yoga at any time you want.

 

Are you not taking yoga classes with us yet? Sometimes it is possible to participate in different teaching styles than Pregnancy Yoga. But not all styles are suitable for this. So consult us in advance.

 

Are you already a member and do you regularly take classes with us? Then, if you feel good, you can continue with the regular classes well into your pregnancy. Indicate to your teacher that you are pregnant. Then the teacher can take this into account and give you tips / tricks and adjustments. Our advice is not to practice dynamic yoga in the first trimester and to avoid twists and deep forward bends. Optionally, you can switch to Pregnancy Yoga in the second trimester, but you can also continue to follow your regular classes.

 

 

WHEN

 

Short courses Mindful Zwanger (Mindful Pregnant) and Voorbereiden op je bevalling (Preparing for childbirth) start regularly. Click here for more info and starting dates.

 

With sufficient interest we start continuous classes, on Tuesdays from 6:45 PM - 7:45 PM.
The pregnancy pyoga classes can be followed with your regular membership or strip card from De Yoga Studio.
