What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is the traditional health education of India. Translated from Sanskrit, Ayurveda means "the science of life" (Ayur means "long life" or "life" and veda means "science").
In all living organisms three bio-energetic forces (doshas) are active: vata, the power of movement, pitta, the power of transformation and kapha, the power of structure. This is the doctrine of the tridoshas. These three energetic forces give direction to the five elements we are built from: earth, water, fire, air and ether.
Every person is born with their own unique combination of these five elements and three bio-energetic forces. When this combination is disrupted by our way of life, we become unbalanced.
In collaboration with Sri Sri Ayurveda, De Yoga Studio Eindhoven offers you the opportunity to get acquainted or to deepen your knowledge about this ancient science.
Kiran Valsan: "In every regular medical science, diagnoses are made in the fourth or fifth stage of the disease, with the pulse diagnosis we can already recognize diseases at an earlier stage." The sooner a disease is detected, the easier we can treat and prevent it from actually manifesting itself.
He received his Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (B.A.M.S.) from Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science in Bangalore. For five years he was head of the Sri Sri Ayurveda Center in Kerala, where he was a much-needed physician with 60 patients a day. At the request of Ayurveda Specialist the Netherlands he came to Europe where he gives consults in the Netherlands, France, Belgium and Spain. In addition, he regularly gives lectures in which he clearly explains the basic principles of Ayurveda.
